Have gone before us to give us Liberty and Fredom!
I’ve been sooooo busy this past week (I’ve been working a lot of,
overtime at my JOB) that I haven’t been able to put
a post up here for the life of me. It’s the Memorial Day weekend and I
hope that you - my trusty comic collecting friends are enjoying your
holiday.
This is just me showing you that I am a real person (I hope I haven’t
come across as anything else) behind this comic collecting site. Yes,
I have a family, a full-time job and I really do enjoy collecting comic
books.
Enough about me though. This is about you all spending some time with
your family, and loved ones. Get out there and soak up some sun, play
some golf, volley ball, horse shoes (hey I love playing horse shoes!) or just
plain relax.
Freedom Is Never Free!
While you’re doing that, remember those who have gone before us and
have fought and died for the freedoms we have today. I thank God for
the U.S. of A. and the freedoms that we have here (let’s not take adv-
antage of them).
Also, let us remember those who are on the front-lines right now in Iraq
and afghanistan, as well as around many other parts of the world - day
and night they are putting their lives at risk - for FREEDOM!
Whether you agree with the “War on Terror” or not, the reality is - our
Dads, Moms, Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews are
a world away fighting this war and are doing it with courage, heart and
commitment to their countrymen (That’s us). Let’s do them proud and
remember them Monday, May 27th 2008.
Allow Me To Turn My Words Into Action!
Here is what I would Like to do. My good friend Dave Gieber, has put
out an excellent ebook on the beginnings of a comic book collection and
I have reveiwed it for you. For the next 48 hours ONLY, anyone who
purchases his book through my link I will be donating ALL of my affiliate
commissions to an organization that helps out financially struggling
soldiers in the armed forces.
It’s called Operation Once In A Lifetime and they have helped over
1200 soldiers since 2007 who were behind in their rent, to fix cars,
bring soldiers home to see their loved ones or to visit a family member
in a hospital and much more.
It’s sad that our military while they are out putting their lives at risk
have to be concerned about financial issues or whether they will be
able to meet the rent payment or wonder if they will lose their house
because they are serving our country!
Well, I’d like to do a little something about it - with your help! Ok, here
is what you do:
1. Check out the review of Dave’s book.
2. Use my link (one at the top and bottom) to order.
3. E-mail me your clickbank receipt to patrick AT comicbookcollecting DOT net.
4. Enjoy Daves book knowing you’ve helped out a fellow soldier.
That’s it! I wish all of you a Happy Memorial Day and let’s show a hearty
support for our troops. God bless!
P.S. 100% of the donations go straight to helping out a military person in
need, so go to the review and click on the order link today. Thank you.
P.P.S. Just for your entertainment, here is a link for you to see 3 TV Ad spots for
the Incredible Hul movie coming out in a couple of weeks. Enjoy!

1Patrick:
That was a nice post. It may not be common knowledge, but there are a sizable amount of individuals in the military that are also into comic books. And many of them pass their time in service reading.
When I first started my site, one individual and I became email friends and he was in Iraq at the time. He even obtained a copy of my ebook and sent me a testimonial. You can see it on my sales page if you go there through Patrick’s link above.
James Tyler or Jay as he likes to be called even donated some expertise to my comic book supplies page. And when he came back to the states, he decided to head to California and educate himself. He recently graduated in Information Technologies (IT), I believe and is now looking for a job. I wish Jay good luck in this endeavor.
Anyway, it looks like Patrick threw me a challenge, even though he didn’t realize it. If you purchase my book through Patrick’s link, for the next 48 hours, I will send him my proceeds so he can also donate that to his cause.
No matter what we think of our country’s politics, real men and real women have to carry out the President’s orders. They are putting themselves in harms way so that we can read any comic book we want. I think they deserve more from us. Don’t you?
Anyway, again, nice post Patrick.

2Dave,
Thank you for the comment and I am glad you looked at this as a challenge. No, I didn’t realize that it would turn out that way.
But I hope that others will respond so we can send some help to our fellow soldiers in need. We still have some time left and I’m looking forward to the results.
God bless,
