Who Is Turning 40 and Back Issue Picks

June 1st, 2008 by Comic Book Collecting
Respond

Hey comic collectors,

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend as much as I’m enjoying my 4-day weekend. Weather has been real nice here in Michigan, although we did have a little rain today. Before I get to my main topic today, can you guess who is turning 40 on June 2nd?

Please guess who it is by leaving a comment to this post – I’m really interested in the answers that will be given. No hints though – sorry!

Ok, for those of you who have been following my site and what information I’ve been putting here, there is a link at the top of this page named “Back Issue Picks” which is a page that gives you picks of comic books that are under the radar and/or will be on the rise because of the comic book movies coming out.

The back issue picks page has been updated with some new comic books to keep an eye out for.

Why would you want to keep an eye out for them?

One reason is because if you buy these comic books before their prices hit a “high” you can either flip them for profit or grade them and increase your return on investment. I will be covering this more in my review of Sean Jones’ Movies, Comics and Cash program. I’ll give you the link to his site once my review is complete.

In the meantime, before you have to venture back to work, check out the back issue picks for some gems to add to your collection.

Happy collecting.

======================================================

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. We had some great weather here in Michigan – in the 80’s all three days!

Anyhoo, I wanted to give you all an update on the 48 hour challenge that I put out – the results are in – we made a sale…

Ok, so it was one measly sale. But that one sale will now go towards helping out a serviceman who actually needs it and Myself, Dave and the one who purchased can feel good about that. We will have many other challenges down the road as we grow, to help out others in need.

Next, I am working on another product review for you all – and this one is an awesome one! I kid you not, you will love this once you see it – so add my site to your rss feeder and keep an eye out for that review.

Want a hint on what it is?

Glad you asked… it will cover how you can turn your comics into cash by taking advantage of the comic book movie rage.

Finally, I’ve been making changes to the site (some visible, some not) that I hope will benefit you and others looking for information on comic book collecting. Coming up I will be doing some articles on Prepping Comic Books. Many of you may not know what prepping is or what it’s purpose is, but I will dig into it here on this site.

Comic Tip –> Prepping can increase the grade and value of your comic book instantly! <–

That’s all for now, have a great week.

P.S. I won’t be updating the site that much over the next week as my son is back home from school and I will be spending some time with him, but don’t worry, I’ll be putting some good information together for you. Thanks for being a loyal viewer of my site. God bless.

Remembering Those Whom…

May 25th, 2008 by Comic Book Collecting
Respond

Have gone before us to give us Liberty and Fredom!

I’ve been sooooo busy this past week (I’ve been working a lot of,
overtime at my JOB) that I haven’t been able to put
a post up here for the life of me. It’s the Memorial Day weekend and I
hope that you – my trusty comic collecting friends are enjoying your
holiday.

This is just me showing you that I am a real person (I hope I haven’t
come across as anything else) behind this comic collecting site. Yes,
I have a family, a full-time job and I really do enjoy collecting comic
books.

Enough about me though. This is about you all spending some time with
your family, and loved ones. Get out there and soak up some sun, play
some golf, volley ball, horse shoes (hey I love playing horse shoes!) or just
plain relax.

Freedom Is Never Free!

While you’re doing that, remember those who have gone before us and
have fought and died for the freedoms we have today. I thank God for
the U.S. of A. and the freedoms that we have here (let’s not take adv-
antage of them).

Also, let us remember those who are on the front-lines right now in Iraq
and afghanistan, as well as around many other parts of the world – day
and night they are putting their lives at risk – for FREEDOM!

Whether you agree with the “War on Terror” or not, the reality is – our
Dads, Moms, Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews are
a world away fighting this war and are doing it with courage, heart and
commitment to their countrymen (That’s us). Let’s do them proud and
remember them Monday, May 27th 2008.

Allow Me To Turn My Words Into Action!

Here is what I would Like to do. My good friend Dave Gieber, has put
out an excellent ebook on the beginnings of a comic book collection and
I have reveiwed it for you. For the next 48 hours ONLY, anyone who
purchases his book through my link I will be donating ALL of my affiliate
commissions to an organization that helps out financially struggling
soldiers in the armed forces.

It’s called Operation Once In A Lifetime and they have helped over
1200 soldiers since 2007 who were behind in their rent, to fix cars,
bring soldiers home to see their loved ones or to visit a family member
in a hospital and much more.

It’s sad that our military while they are out putting their lives at risk
have to be concerned about financial issues or whether they will be
able to meet the rent payment or wonder if they will lose their house
because they are serving our country!

Well, I’d like to do a little something about it – with your help! Ok, here
is what you do:

1. Check out the review of Dave’s book.
2. Use my link (one at the top and bottom) to order.
3. E-mail me your clickbank receipt to patrick AT comicbookcollecting DOT net.
4. Enjoy Daves book knowing you’ve helped out a fellow soldier.

That’s it! I wish all of you a Happy Memorial Day and let’s show a hearty
support for our troops. God bless!

P.S. 100% of the donations go straight to helping out a military person in
need, so go to the review and click on the order link today. Thank you.

P.P.S. Just for your entertainment, here is a link for you to see 3 TV Ad spots for
the Incredible Hul movie coming out in a couple of weeks. Enjoy!

Indiana Jones – Get Your Whip Crackin Lessons Here!

May 20th, 2008 by Comic Book Collecting
Respond

Indiana JonesIf you don’t remember the Movies from the 80’s that featured Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark, then surely you remember the comic books that came out by Marvel. Indy, as he was called in the movies, liked to wield his whip quite a lot as he ventured to find the lost treasures of the world.

For those of you who enjoy “whip crackin”, you can view this tutorial on how you can improve that specialty.

May 22nd is approaching and a new movie is coming out featuring… You guessed it – Harrison Ford in the latest of the Jones’ movies called “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. This is probably not going to be as popular as the Iron Man movie is (anyone who has seen this, put a comment on this post whether you liked it or not), but for those who enjoyed the original movies and comic books will “most” likely enjoy this one.

Give me your thoughts on this new “Indiana” movie…

Do you think you will enjoy more of Indy crackin the bullwhip, running around in his leather jacket – and of course, laughing at his fear of snakes, while fighting off Nazis, mystics and some group of tribes?

Bring on those comments about what you think, as well as what you like or don’t like about the Indy empire. Thanks.

P.S. – Speaking of Indiana Jones, Check out:

Hey comic collectors,

I mentioned to you a couple of posts ago that I would be coming out with my very first product review. Dave Gieber is the fellow comic collector who has put out a great ebook on collecting comics. Here is my review of Comic Book Collecting – A Starting Point.

Please hop over there and grab a copy of Dave’s book – you won’t regret it.
