Ghost Rider…Ridin’ High In Sales

March 25th, 2008 by Comic Book Collecting

Ghost Rider #1 CGC 9.8UPDATE: I checked eBay tonight and found that another high grade Ghost Rider #1 CGC 9.6 went for over $1k.

Still a good sum of cash, but look at the difference that a 9.8 will bring! Check those books to see if you might have a winner, get it graded and sell it!

No one can tell me that high grade comic books can’t bring in the dough. Here is a #1 of Ghost Rider (original series) that took in a handsome $4k+. Click here to see the actual auction and the final price.

Seems to be the finest copy graded to date. Wow! A hard one to top – but it’s been done before. Keep an eye on Ghost Rider #1 as well as some picks I’ve chosen that you can go take a look at on my high grade comics page.

Later, I will be doing a series on how you too can get some high grade books – without spending $k to do it. Keep an eye on this blog for that series. Nuff said.

I have one of these (Ghost Rider #1) that is in excellent condition. Do you know how I should proceed to get a good price for it and where. I am not a serious collector, I just have about a hundred different comics that I had or my sister had when we were kids.

    JD,

Thank you for your question about your
    Ghost Rider comic book.

First, in order to put a value on your book
you must determine it’s condition based
from a standard (although putting a grade
on a book is subjective) such as the
    Overstreet Price Guide.

If you would like, scan in the book and send
    me the images to patrickwhitson@gmail.com.
Make sure they are large enough to see detail
on the comic and I will take a look at it and
    determine a grade.

Once you know the grade of the book, you
should do research on ebay to find out what the
going price is for that grade, or if it is in
“excellent” shape, why not get it graded by CGC
and sell it for multiples of what you could get
    un-slabbed?

Go take a more detailed look at my article on
determining values for your comic books.

If you have any further questions or need help
with anything Please let me know.
